easy like Sunday morning
There's nothing better than cooking on a cold winter Sunday. Filling the house with the sounds and smells of good things to eat, makes everything feel as it should. I like to think that this is how my sundays were growing up, but i don't think so. and they aren't always like that in my house now. but there are the times where i get motivation, or there is a special event like the super bowl that precipitates my need to be in the kitchen the better part of the day. I would like to think that these are memories my kids will take with them into their adult lives, and when they have families of their own, they will remember the house filled with the smells and sounds and love that comes from cooking.
I love to cook, and more specifically, I love to cook for my loved ones. My kids are typical kids, and don't eat all that much, other than chicken nuggets/fingers and pizza, but my hope is that given time, they will learn to enjoy food the way that I do. It's important to me that they at least see me in the kitchen, and help when they are so inclined, so that they can be a part of the process. I love a weekend that is raining or snowing, when there isn't anything to do but cook delicious food, have a fire and play board games and watch movies, or read. But what really makes it all magical is the lingering smells of home cooking.
